History
Stoddard Baptist Global Care’s location has a rich history of serving seniors. This location – 2601 18th Street NE in Washington, DC – has been helping seniors lead fulfilling lives for over 125 years.
In 1890, Sarah Utermehle, a local philanthropist, donated 27 acres of land for the National Lutheran Home, which started as a small cottage for seniors. They continued to expand until 1980, when they moved locations and the National Lutheran home property sat vacant until it was purchased by the District of Columbia. The property became the Washington Center for Aging Services and provided a variety of needed care to local seniors.
On July 21, 2010, Stoddard Baptist took over management of operations of Stoddard Baptist Global Care.
